Parent/Carer FAQ

Do I need to bring anything with me?

When your child starts at Little Treasures:

  • We will need to see a copy of your child's birth certificate or passport
  • We will need to see your 2 Year Funding letter - if applicable
  • Photos for our family album

On a daily basis, you will need to bring the following:

  • Nappies; these can be brought daily or a pack brought in and your child's key worker will inform you when we are running low
  • Milk; we provide cow's milk, if your child is not using this then please bring the appropriate milk.
  • Dummy or comforter; just in case your child may need it
  • Spare clothes; just in case of any accidents
  • If toilet training; lots of spare clothes.....just in case!

What happens if you child is unwell?

If you feel your child is too unwell to attend nursery, then please inform us as early as possible. If you inform us that your child is unwell and will not be attending that day, we will deduct 50% from your bill for that day; if you do not inform us then we be unable to deduct this.

If your child becomes unwell whilst attending, we will inform you, we may decide to give them some Calpol if we feel it is needed, and if the consent form has previously been signed on the Registration Form. We will contact you if we feel you need to collect your child; we do however understand this can sometimes be difficult due to work commitments.

If your child is unwell whilst at Little Treasures the staff will look after them and attend to their needs, plenty of cuddles will be given if this is needed!!

What qualifications do staff have?

All practitioners are qualified to a Level 3 in Childcare, with 9 practitioners qualified to a level 4 or above. All our practitioners are DBS checked and all are Paediatric First Aid trained, and have all recently completed the Level 1 Safeguarding refresher course.

Relevant practitioners also hold a Food Hygiene certificate.

How do I find out about my child's development?

Parents are invited to attend our ‘Open Week’ appointments which are held every term, either by phone, a report on Tapestry or in person. Alternatively, your child’s keyworker will always make time to talk to you about your child’s development, progress and general time spent within the nursery, as and when you wish.

Staff always strive to make time to talk to parents at drop off and pick up times to ensure all information regarding their child’s day at nursery has been like. This is also an excellent time for parents to tell us what their child has been doing at home!
