History
Intent
History at Wheeler inspires children to explore the world we live in currently and understand how this has changed over both their lifetime and beyond this.
Children will spark an interest and develop empathy for events in the past. They will understand the chronology of different events and understand the lasting impact they had on society at the time and today. Children will be able to ask and answer their own questions and include relevant historical vocabulary within their answers. Children will be taught enquiry skills allowing them to make their own interpretations about the past.
