Art
Art – curriculum information
Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity.
Art comes in many different forms: drama, dance, poetry, craft, painting, sketching, digital art, music, mixed-media and sculpture to name but a few. Research suggests that the arts develop creativity, a core pre-requisite of innovative mind sets, communicative attitudes and problem solving.
Our Art curriculum aims to provide opportunities to respond to great pieces of art and for children to be creative in making their own art.
Skills and techniques will be taught alongside the study of artists and their work. Wherever possible, cross curricular links and visits to galleries and exhibitions are made in order to ensure that real life links are made between art all around us and the art that we create.
Children’s creative potential is limitless. Our Art curriculum provides children with a variety of experiences that will inspire them to see how art can impact on their lives and to pursue their talents and interests.
