Art at Wheeler Primary School is a journey of discovery, creativity, and expression — anchored in the National Curriculum’s aim to equip pupils with knowledge and skills to experiment, invent, and create their own works of art.

Our curriculum is built around the areas of making, ensuring children explore and understand artistic disciplines such as drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, and working in three dimensions. Children use sketchbooks to document their process, embrace mistakes, reflect on outcomes, and express personal responses.

Through celebration and opportunities to showcase work in school, pupils not only develop artistic fluency but also build confidence and resilience as growing creative thinkers.
